OOTD: Ethnic look

So, I have this cousin who recently got married. Well, they opted for a court marriage and we missed all the typical INDIANĀ marriage wala masti and fun. Nevertheless, she found a great guy and that’s what matters.

There was a small get together for the family members today in honour of the newly wedded couple. It was a day function.

I was clueless and also had no time for shopping. Besides, I didn’t want to weigh down with heavy traditional wear as she’s younger to me šŸ˜œ. I decided to do a light look which is vibrant and easy breezy and most importantly comfortable.

I decided on a bright royal blue ankle length kurta which have a front slit from the neck to the hem, beautifully done with bright golden work on a pink border. The bottom part have a big horizontal border of pink with intricate designs painted all over. The pink work gave the otherwise simple A line kurta a power lift and summer freshness as pink is evidently the colour of this season ( you can read about my blog on trends of summer 2017 here).

I bought this kurta few days back from the Pentaloons mallĀ of my city.

I decided to pair it with a wide legged pallazoā€‹ of the same shade of pink. I did have to hunt down the whole mall inorder to get this one. It’s from Aurelia and is perfect to wear with kurta as well as tops ( I will write another blog about mixing and matching this pallazo some other day hopefully). I love this pallazo specially for it’s extra wide legs. I have a thing for pants like this which are so comfy for the summers.

Please excuse the image quality

Since it was a day function I went for less accessories. I wore a pair of ethnic beaded earrings with a blue/purple bead at the center which matches with the kurta. Sans neck-piece as the outfit was already very catchy. A golden bracelet to match the golden work along the border of the kurta.

For makeup, IĀ once again opted a minimal look. Eye-shadows in paleĀ pink with winged liners and a hintĀ of pink on my cheeks. However, I did add a pop of color to it with my Maybelline matte Matt lipstick (coral).

For footwear , I opted for a long forgotten pair of jutis (kind of) after ages I guess.

Put my brand new opium sunglasses on and yayy am ready to hit the famjam.

There was no one at home so had to do with selfies

So, this is how it turned out to be. Do you like my ootd ? Tell me in the comments section please.

Maybelline The Falsies Push Up Drama Mascara: Review

A mascara is my instant go to when I opt for a natural look or a no make up look. It gives an edge and some drama to the eyes and instantly opens up my otherwise short and thin lashes. Mascara takes the lashes to the heights of big drama, lift and look-at-me volume. I have been looking out to buy a mascara for quite some time now and looks like finally I have found one.

“Lashes: Big and Bold” is my motto when I go looking for a mascara.

The mascara comes in a cute packaging that any girl would fall in love with. The product claims “Dare to get the push-up effect! This creamy, plumping formula delivers instant volume and holds the curl in place while the Push Up Cup Brush scoops and lifts from root to tip. Lashes look lengthened for a dramatic eye look. Ophthalmologist tested. Suitable for contact lens wearers.”

It comes with a fairly basic straight line applicator that has sharp spiky bristles, more or less like a comb. It strokes through quickly and easily without smearing on my upper or lower lash line. The formula sets to a nice soft finish and I donā€™t feel my lashes were stiff or crunchy at all. Neither do I have any issues with flaking, smearing or smudging till now!

The pigmentation of the mascara is quite intense, giving that perfect jet black color. In terms of texture, it is slightly on the thicker and creamy side. The mascara is volumizing and also lifts up the lashes. The applicator wand helps to apply mascara easily on the lower eyelashes as well. It gives nice curling effect to the eyelashes even without using an eyelash curler. Two to three coats are good enough to give that dramatic effect to the eyes.

The lasting power of this mascara is around 6-7 hours, which is again great! However, removing the mascara is slightly difficult as it is a waterproof variant I use, but using a good eye makeup remover with an oil-based formula make the removal part easier and mess free. Also, one can always go for the non waterproof formula.

Pros of  Maybelline The Falsies Push Up Drama Mascara:

  1. Nice applicator
  2. Thick in texture
  3. Easy to apply
  4. Good pigmentation
  5. Shows up well in 2-3 coats
  6. Smudge-proof
  7. Curls up the eyelashes
  8. Adds volume to the lashes
  9. Never weighs down the eyelashes even upon layering
  10. Does not clump the eyelashes
  11. Lasts pretty long.

Cons of Maybelline The Falsies Push Up Drama Mascara:

  1. Removing this mascara is requires quite a ton of patience.

  1.  Makeup remover, as we all know. Make sure it is oil based formula.
  2.  Olive oil dipped in cotton ball.
  3.  Our very own Vaseline petroleum jelly, again with a cotton ball.
  4.  I even use baby oil sometimes.

  1.  Draw the Push Up Cup brush from root to tip of lashes.
  2. Repeat until desired lift and volume are achieved.
  3. Do not let the mascara dry in between coats.

Maybelline Newyork Lip Gradation Review

So the summer is back and we are ready to rock the pastels this summer. While red lips are my all time favorite but it’s time to ditch the red for some more summer friendly lips.Ā

Here the Maybelline Newyork Lip Gradation by color-sensationalĀ came to my rescue.Ā

I bought my new lip colorĀ in the shade of pink 1 and it was amazingly sensational as claimed. I got mine from the Maybelline counters in a shopping mall but you can get yours online as well, where you might crack some deal šŸ˜œ ( sadly I got no discount and bought it for Rs. 500).

The shade ā€œPink 1ā€ which I bought is a very pretty poppy pink shade and is perfect for summers. It instantly brightens up my face and will compliment any fair or medium skin-tone beautifully. ItĀ feels more like a mousse rather than cream and glides on super smoothly. The consistency is ultra soft and so, much pressure should not be applied while using this. The finish is super matte which looks extremely stunning on the lips. However a little moisturization of the lips prior to application is recommended.

It has a grading brush as well

Overall, I am in love with this and can’t stop using it everyday for brunches, day outs and what not. Tell me if you like it in the comments below. I amĀ quite a newbie in blogging. Please show some love. ā¤ļø
